If you are interested in a PTA leadership role, below is a general description of the current committee vacancies. Committee positions are filled for a term of one year. Individuals may be reappointed to a maximum of one additional term. If you have questions about the roles and responsibilities of any of the vacancies, please contact any board member.
Nominating Chair: Identifies and nominates others to fill committee vacancies. This position helps to ensure the continuity, effectiveness, and diversity of committee leadership.
Co-Treasurer: Works with the out-going Treasurer to carry out the financial and legal business of the PTA, such as preparing and making deposits, entering data into the on-line finance program and reconciling monthly statements, preparing monthly financial documents for Board meeting, tracking on-line matching gifts, and filing all required legal and financial documents. The co-treasurer positions are staggered so that an outgoing treasurer mentors an incoming treasurer for a period of one year.
Language/Ethnic Group Outreach Representatives: Works to reduce barriers to participation by the major non-English-speaking parent groups. Outreach Representatives will actively seek input from a particular group and periodically report to the Executive Committee.
*Grant Writers: Works with the Fundraising Committee to complete grant applications in specific areas that benefit the BHIS community.
